Transparency is at the heart of everything we do. Read everything you need to know about your privacy, your rights, and how bookings work at Local Holidays.

Introduction

At Local Holidays, your privacy matters deeply. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our booking service, how we protect it, and your rights as a guest.

What Information We Collect

  1. Your full name and Kuwait phone number, provided when making a booking
  2. A photograph of your Civil ID (front side), uploaded at booking for identity verification
  3. Your chosen chalet, package type, check-in date, number of nights, and total price
  4. Payment references from Tap Payments — we do not store card numbers
  5. Your IP address and browser type, collected automatically for security purposes

How We Use Your Information

  • To process your reservation and confirm chalet availability
  • To contact you on WhatsApp to confirm and manage your booking
  • To allow our admin team to manage reservations and provide guest support
  • To calculate pricing and process payments securely through Tap Payments
  • To prevent fraud and ensure the safety of our properties and guests

Data Storage & Security

Your booking data is stored securely in our encrypted database. Civil ID images are stored on Cloudinary as restricted, authenticated files — they are never publicly accessible and can only be viewed by authorised staff via a temporary 15-minute secure link. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

Third Parties We Work With

  • Tap Payments (Kuwait) — to process your payment securely; Tap is PCI-DSS compliant
  • Cloudinary — to store your Civil ID image in a secure, access-controlled vault
  • We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with any other third parties for marketing or any other purpose

How Long We Keep Your Data

Booking records are retained for a minimum of 2 years for accounting and legal compliance. Civil ID images are deleted when their associated booking is permanently removed. You may request early deletion of your data by contacting us on WhatsApp.

Your Rights

  • Right to access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to correct: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Right to delete: request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version posted on this page is always the current one. Continued use of our service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

Acceptance of Terms

By using Local Holidays to browse or book a chalet, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full. If you do not agree with any part, please do not use our service.

About Our Service

Local Holidays is a chalet rental platform offering seaside holiday accommodation in Al Khiran, Kuwait. Chalets are independently owned; we facilitate the booking process and serve as a trusted intermediary between guests and property owners.

Booking Process

  1. Browse available chalets and choose your preferred property and package
  2. Select your check-in date and enter your guest details
  3. Upload a Civil ID photo and choose your payment preference
  4. Complete your payment — deposit or full amount — securely via Tap Payments
  5. Receive a WhatsApp confirmation from our team, typically within 24 hours

Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are displayed in Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD) and are inclusive of all applicable fees
  • A non-refundable insurance amount is added to every booking and shown before confirmation
  • You may pay a fixed deposit to hold your dates, or pay the full amount upfront
  • If paying by deposit, the remaining balance must be settled at least 3 days before check-in
  • Payments are processed securely via Tap Payments — KNET, credit cards, and Apple Pay are accepted

Cancellations & Refunds

  1. More than 14 days before check-in: full refund minus the insurance amount
  2. 7 to 14 days before check-in: 50% refund of the base price minus insurance
  3. Less than 7 days before check-in: no refund
  4. No-show without prior notice: full forfeiture of the booking amount
  5. Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days to the original payment method

Guest Responsibilities

  • The booking contact must be 21 years of age or older and hold a valid Kuwait Civil ID
  • The chalet must be returned in the same condition it was found at check-in
  • Any damage to the property or its contents during your stay will be charged to the booking guest
  • Noise must be kept at a reasonable level after 10:00 PM out of respect for neighbours
  • The number of guests must not exceed the maximum capacity stated at booking

Our Liability

Local Holidays is not liable for personal injury, loss of property, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your stay. We are not responsible for third-party services including payment processing delays or force majeure events beyond our reasonable control.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Changes take effect immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of our service constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

Available Packages

  • Weekday package — Sunday to Wednesday: 4 nights
  • Weekend package — Thursday to Saturday: 3 nights
  • Full Week package: 7 consecutive nights, any start day

Check-In & Check-Out Times

  1. Check-in from 11:00 AM on your arrival date
  2. Check-out by 2:00 PM on your departure date
  3. Early check-in or late check-out must be requested via WhatsApp at least 24 hours in advance and are subject to availability

Payment Options

  • Full payment: pay the complete total at booking — no further payment required
  • Deposit option: pay a fixed deposit now to secure your dates; remaining balance is due 3 days before check-in
  • All payments are processed securely by Tap Payments — KNET, credit/debit cards, and Apple Pay accepted
  • Your booking dates are only secured once payment is successfully completed

Civil ID Requirement

All bookings require a photograph of the Kuwait Civil ID (front side) of the guest making the reservation. The Civil ID holder must be at least 21 years of age and is the responsible party for the entire stay. Civil ID information is kept strictly confidential and used solely for identity verification.

Coupon Codes

Coupon codes must be entered before completing payment — discounts cannot be applied retroactively. Each coupon has its own validity period, usage limit, and applicable conditions. Please verify the coupon terms at the time of booking.

Booking Modifications

Requests to change your check-in date are handled on a case-by-case basis and are subject to availability. Please contact us on WhatsApp at least 72 hours before your original check-in. Rate differences may apply if your new dates fall in a different pricing tier.

Insurance Amount

A fixed non-refundable insurance amount is automatically added to every booking. This covers incidental damage to the chalet and its contents during your stay. The exact amount is clearly shown before you confirm and pay.

Guest Conduct & House Rules

  • Treat the chalet, furnishings, and equipment with care throughout your stay
  • Guest count must not exceed the maximum capacity at any time — extra guests are not permitted
  • Pets are not allowed unless explicitly noted in the chalet listing
  • Any illegal activity on the premises will result in immediate termination of the booking without a refund
